
MORTON A. BARUCH (1928 - 2014) Founding Member
Mr. Baruch specialized in the development, financing, and management of large-scale multifamily communities for over 40 years. He participated as a lead executive in the private and public sectors and co-developed the first self-subsidized apartment development in New York City. While with the department of Housing and Urban Development, he directed the Office of Assisted Housing and became the General Deputy Assistant Secretary for Housing and the Deputy Federal Housing Commissioner. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award, the department's highest honor.
In honor of his memory and as a tribute to his many contributions, the Morton Baruch Memorial Scholarship has been established for the benefit of residents who reside at a Foresight property.

MORTON W. SCHOMER (1928 - 2019) Founding Member
Mr. Schomer had a career spanning more than 20 years as a founding partner of the law firm, Brownstein Zeidman and Schomer. Mr. Schomer later served as counsel to the Washington law firm, Hessel and Aluise, PC, which specializes in affordable housing law. He was appointed by President Johnson to serve at HUD as Assistant Commissioner for Multifamily and Subsidized Housing and led the department during its peak production years. Mr. Schomer was a member of the bar in New York and the District of Columbia. He was also a Life Trustee of the National Housing Conference.
